FAQ's

How does the software work across the plant?

The software connects directly to the plant floor control PLC's (Programmable Logic Computers). These devices typically control every activity in your plant. They open the valves, start the pumps, meter the raw materials and final products from place to place. They heat, cool, mix, and clean. But they also instantly forget what they did. They are only built for control. Our software watches these PLC's and translates what they are doing into meaningful business intelligence for a process manufacturer.

Is the software easy to install?

Yes, and it is getting easier every day. For some of our modules it is only a few days and you'll have reports and information to improve your process. Our software was built to translate the process control into intelligence for process. This is not a project, it is a full product.

Is it necessary to shut down plant operations during any time in the install?

Never! That is a huge difference between Vigilistics and the perceived competition selling data collection and reporting software. With theirs you will need to program in your plant PLC's, and experience shutdowns, startups, and validation. We never require shutdowns, startups, or validation of the process.

What kind of hardware do I need to run Vigilistics software?

You provide one server grade PC, running Windows, and a Rockwell Control Logix. That's it. Everything else runs on a Web service.

Does the software integrate with other systems?

Yes. Wonderware, GE, Intellution, RSView as well as the various brands of PLC's like Rockwell's Allen Bradley, Modicon and Siemens. Vigilistics also integrates with lab and business systems such as AS400, SAP, and Oracle.

Can I connect the software across many plants in my enterprise?

Absolutely. Vigilistics not only allows this, but was built from the ground up to be an enterprise system. Compare and contrast your best plants, your most efficient chemical users, your worst waste water generators.

How does the software work with our current CIP chart recorders?

If you want to keep your existing chart recorders you certainly can. However, Vigilistics Compliance Reporting will satisfy your FDA and PMO reporting criteria, guaranteed. In fact it was designed by one of the authors of the PMO.
